Housing and Transportation
The University offers traditional and apartment-style housing to the Summer Scholars participating in our "Canon and Beyond" Institute. Each room/suite has a self-regulating air conditioning unit. All halls are clean, quiet, and include kitchens, laundry rooms, and vending areas. The comfortable lounges are perfect for informal gatherings, group communication, and multipurpose rooms provide entertainment such as table tennis, pool tables, and televisions. Summer housing is easily accessible and conveniently located on campus in close proximity to our meeting room, the University Library, dining, and other resources. Participating Summer Scholars may arrive over the weekend preceding the start date of July 6th 2015 and depart over the weekend after the Institute ends on July 31st 2015.
Housing costs are very reasonable and range from $832 (double) to $1,092 (single occupancy) for traditional dormitory housing, to $1,014 (double) to $1274 (single occupancy) for suites for the duration of the Institute. These prices include 26 nights of lodging, arriving Sunday, July 5th and departing Friday evening, July 31st. Summer scholars may also elect to stay an additional night (27 nights), departing Saturday, August 1. For the extra night the prices are as follows: traditional dormitory – ($32 for double occupancy, $42 for single occupancy); suite – ($39 for double occupancy, $49 for single occupancy).
Summer Scholars will have access to kitchen facilities for meal preparation, and grocery stores are located in the vicinity of dormitories. In addition there is a variety of options for dining out, including the University cafeteria and on- and off-campus restaurants
