Creating a More Welcoming and Inclusive Campus Environment
Dear Drexel Students and Colleagues,
In last week’s message, I invited you to participate in a focus group and share your views about Drexel’s policies and practices related to academic freedom, free expression, and compliance with Title VI --- the federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color and national origin (including shared ancestry and ethnic characteristics). I also invited you to complete this short survey.
I am grateful to everyone who either took part in last week’s focus group sessions or filled out the survey. Your insights were illuminating and tremendously helpful.
At the same time, we are seeking broader engagement from our community in this effort. We especially want to accommodate everyone who wanted to contribute their insights but was unable to do so due to time constraints last week. So, we are extending the deadline for participating in the survey by a full week to Friday, November 22.
If you have not yet done so, please participate in this survey. You will be helping us to create a more welcoming and inclusive campus environment.
Sincerely,
Denis P. O’Brien
Interim President
