We all know that Coursera, edX, and Udacity (not to mention the Khan Academy) have certainly been "in the news" across the past year. In many cases MOOCs have been either the headline of the lead story in the NYTimes, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and many other publications and communication channels.

Drexel University was showcased in this space last year when the Earle Mack School of Law's Professor Karl Okamoto, ran his The Basics of Business Acquisitions course via his grant-funded Law Meets application for 870 enrollees. Professor Okamoto followed that up with a second offering in Law Meets entitled Business Law Basics for 160 enrollees. More recently, Dr. Youngmoo Kim, Associate Professor, in Drexel’s College of Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering department, has been collaborating with IRT in discussions with Opera Company Philadelphia as well as The Curtis Institute, to offer a MOOC this fall based on a specific opera performed this past February. Two other possible MOOC offerings could focus on Writing and Off-Campus Housing Education, the second a current offering done completely face-to-face.
