The Evolution of Mario the Magnificent

Mario the Magnificent, Drexel’s beloved dragon mascot, is an iconic symbol of the University. But did you know he wasn’t named Mario until 1997? The name was chosen to honor alumnus Mario V. Mascioli ’45, who never missed a Drexel men’s basketball game for over two decades. Click through to see mascot Mario throughout the years!
