About The Program:
The College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) at Drexel University is excited to offer a new Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Community-based Librarianship (CBL). This certificate program is designed for those interested in developing impactful skills within areas such as user and community engagement and services, information and data services, digital technology services, and public or academic librarianship.
Funding Available:
The CBL Certificate is supported in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). In the first two years, six or more students will receive full tuition scholarships for the Certificate. Tuition discounts up to 25% may also be available.
Certificate Features:
- Flexible delivery, with courses offered online and on campus
- Open to applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Ideal for paraprofessionals and library assistants who are considering enrolling in a Master’s in Library & Information Science (LIS) program
- Culminates in a capstone project to allow students to apply learned concepts to real-world, community-based information projects and challenges
- Credits earned in this certificate will be fully transferable to the College of Computing Master of Science in Information which features majors in Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience, Digital Content Management, and Library & Information Science (an ALA-accredited program)
