Discovery, development, and evaluation of approaches to improve STEM teaching and learning are core to CASTLE’s mission. As an interdisciplinary initiative, this center:

• Modernizes STEM learning through a focus on experiential and inquiry-based education
• Transforms STEM teaching by changing the culture of STEM educator training
• Institutionalizes the regular use of data to make decisions about teaching and curricula.

As an interdisciplinary initiative, leveraging existing programs and Drexel’s commitment to STEM education and civic engagement, CASTLE is positioned to be a leader in transforming university STEM teaching and learning both locally and nationally.

This strategic approach will transform STEM teaching and learning at Drexel University. Not only will this improved culture enhance Drexel's ability to recruit, retain and effectively train students, but it will serve as an exemplar in the national conversation about revolutionizing STEM education.
