A Case Study of Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome with Nick Eggers, PharmD

Thursday, February 20, 2025

4:00 PM-5:00 PM

The Medical Cannabis Research Center presents Nick Eggers, PharmD.

Eggers graduated with a PharmD from the University Of Pittsburgh in 2023. Afterwards, he completed a one-year healthcare simulation fellowship at the Department of Veterans Affairs, dedicated to designing and deploying interprofessional education for a wide variety of professions. Some examples include case-based suicide prevention training for clinical pharmacists, and a simulation for RNs to practice identifying and intervening in cases of ICU delirium. Currently, he has been working as a cannabis pharmacist at Zen Leaf Cranberry since August 2024. In his new position, he has continued making interprofessional education a priority by making course materials for both pharmacists and cannabis advisors working at Zen Leaf.

Nick will be presenting a case study of a patient with Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS). CHS is a rare but increasing cyclic vomiting syndrome found mainly in patients who consume high potency cannabis on a daily basis.
