A Glorious Enterprise

April 18, 2012

The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University is celebrating their 200th Anniversary. To mark this milestone, Robert M. Peck and Patricia Tyson Stroud have chronicled 200 years of Academy history in their new book, A Glorious Enterprise: The Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia and the Making of American Science. This beautifully illustrated history includes natural-light photographs of Academy specimens by noted photographer Rosamond Purcell. The Kal and Lucille Rudman Institute for Entertainment Industry Studies and the Free Library of Philadelphia will sponsor a talk and book signing with Peck and Stroud on Wednesday, April 25th at 6:30 PM at the Academy (The Academy of Natural Sciences, 1900 Benjamin Franklin Parkway Philadelphia, PA 19103). Boyd Matson, a lead on-air journalist for National Geographic, will interview the authors. For more information and to RSVP, please contact Meredith Donlan at dolan@ansp.org or (215) 299-1115. Also, a studio interview with Robert Peck will air on DUTV on April 27th at 8:30 PM, directly following DNews at 8 PM.
