On Sunday, November 7th at 7 PM Madko will take over The Balcony at the Trocadero with headliner Caithlin De Marrais supported by three local artists, Everyone EverywhereJet Set Sail and Bearings. The all-ages event is $8 and tickets can be purchased at www.thetroc.com.

Caithlin De Marrais, former lead vocalist of Rainer Maria (’95-’06), is a torch singer for a novel kind of heartache. Her new album “Heartbreak-ability, Dance-ability” is due out on End Up Records in 2011.  Philadelphia’s Everyone Everywhere recorded an EP titled "Pants" in 2007 and in 2008 released "A Lot of Weird People Standing Around" as a vinyl EP. The band recently completed their debut self-titled LP released by Tiny Engines last spring. Jet Set Sail played their first show in December 2009 and have since released a four-song demo and toured the Midwest. Philadelphia-based Bearingsplays punk rock in the vein of Small Brown Bike and True North, with indie rock sprinklings reminiscent of Rainer Maria. Their self-titled “7"” is the band’s first release.

On Sunday, November 14th at 7 PM Madko moves to The Rotunda for a hip-hop concert featuring headliner Reef the Lost Cauze.  Reef is a battle-tested MC who won the End of the Weak Challenge Champion at the Rock Steady Crew 27th Anniversary. He independently released the LP “Feast or Famine” to critical praise and more recently released “A Vicious Cycle.” Reef was handpicked by Jedi Mind Tricks front man Vinnie Paz to become a part of his Army of the Pharaohs crew. The bill also features MAD Dragon recording artist Kuf Knotz, whose debut solo album “Boombox Logic” has just been released.  Kuf is the founder and front man of the Burndown Allstars and performed for several years with hip-hop ensemble The Hustle. Local artists Asaad and DJ Bruce round-out a night of outstanding hip-hop. Tickets are only $8 and can be found at www.therotunda.org. Madko is encouraging everyone who attends to donate nonperishable food items which will be distributed to the hungry by Philabundance, the region’s largest hunger relief organizations. Making a donation will automatically enter you into a raffle to win a gift card from a local business.
