Opening of Westphal Student's Award-Winning Play

February 8, 2007

Freeze FrameScreenwriting & Playwriting student Deborah Yarchun's powerful and challenging play FREEZEFRAME will premiere with three performances on the evenings of February 9th and 10th at the Living Arts Lounge. The play won the prestigious 2006 Young Playwrights competition (founded by Stephen Sondheim) from among 1300 entries and was staged as a full Off Broadway production in New York last spring. Director Andrew Merkel and student actors Rachel Gluck, Allyese Guercia, Andy Segedin and Tim Urian will bring to life Yarchun's play, which has been described as an "electrically charged techno-pop drama that focuses on how to freeze a man's soul and the apocalyptic reversal of the earth's magnetic poles."
