June 13, 2019

Sabrina Tran, a Graphic Design major from the Westphal College of Media Arts & Design teamed up with LeBow College of Business junior Ben Red to win the 2nd annual Brand X Challenge experience design competition in 2019.

The Brand X Challenge, produced by experiential marketing agency MAS Event + Design and industry publication Event Marketer, is a national student design competition aimed at opening undergraduate eyes across the nation to the emerging world of experience design. Students were invited to design mock experiential marketing campaigns for Uber's new Uber Health rideshare offering for doctors and patients. Sabrina and Ben's winning concept, titled 'The Healthiest Town in America,' imagined a Philadelphia-wide obstacle course, encouraging healthcare providers to compete against one another and work with Uber drives and patients to win. Beating out 250+ teams spanning more than 100 colleges and universities, Sabrina and Ben claimed a $5,000 cash prize and a trip to Las Vegas for the Event Marketing Conference and award ceremony. The students took every opportunity to network and connect with industry professionals at the Conference, even meeting with the head of Uber Health and head of North America for Uber.

Brand X judges included marketers from Anheuser-Busch, Audi, Cisco, eBay, Facebook, General Motors, Google, Intel, LL Bean, Marriott, Xbox, MobileIron, Nestle, Oracle, Pfizer, Philips Healthcare, Salesforce, SAP, Sephora, Sleep Number, State Farm, UFC, Under Armour, Verizon, YouTube and Zillow.
