DNews Reporter, Kaitlynn Stein, interviewing Gretchen Carlson

March 27, 2018

The latest episode of DNews, our award-winning student-produced TV news magazine, will premier on Friday, April 6 at 8:00 p.m. DNews airs on DUTV in the Philadelphia metropolitan area on Comcast channels 54 or 62 and Verizon channel 47.

Students in the Fall 2017-2018 DNews course, offered by our Television Production and Management Program, produced, shot, and edited the episode. This edition includes Kaitlynn Stein’s interview with former FOX & Friends host, Gretchen Carlson, who hosted a conversation and signing of her book titled, Be Fierce at Drexel University. Carlson’s $20 million lawsuit settlement with FOX News CEO, Roger Ailes is viewed as a spark for the women’s movement in the television and film industry to fight back against sexual harassment.

Also in this episode of DNews, reporter, Mike Marcucci talks to students about their feelings surrounding the job President Trump is doing, a year after his inauguration. Armon Owlia introduces us to a Drexel University baseball player and talks about his family’s role in his success on the field, in the classroom, and beyond. And Shaina McGeth introduces us to an Entertainment and Arts Management student whose musical talents are being showcased on multiple platforms. Wait until you see her music video.
