Drexel University Architecture program 1997 alumni, Mark Kocent, AIA, AICP, has been appointed the University Architect for the University of Pennsylvania. Kocent has served as Penn’s Principal Planner for the past 14 years, supporting the Office of the University Architect in all aspects of architect selection, design review, campus planning and community engagement. He has served on the Boards of AIA Philadelphia, the Penn Design Alumni Association, and as a member of the Steering Committee of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation. He also represents Penn in multiple local and regional planning initiatives and in speaking engagements at local and national AIA, AICP and Society for College and University Planning conferences.
