Theo. A. Artz
June 21, 2017
Professor Theo. A. Artz. is one of the original faculty for our nationally ranked programs in Digital Media. He came to Drexel with experience in both traditional and computer animation. He is an accomplished artist and an expert in fulldome projections. Professor Artz served as the Program Director for Digital Media and on the Faculty Senate and the College Curriculum Committee, and more search, tenure and other committees than he’d likely care to remember. Professor Artz organized wonderful interdisciplinary performance charrettes that brought together Digital Media and Dance students. He has taught over two dozen different courses in Digital Media, and has advised numerous senior projects and graduate theses. He’s an excellent teacher, admired largely by students, faculty, and staff for his knowledge and approachability.
He’s produced professional work for an impressive roster of commercial clients including the American Red Cross, Toshiba, Gore Industries, and Johnson & Johnson. The Curriculum Committee is going into a period of mourning as Ted long ago volunteered to take notes and has been the Recording Secretary ever since. We’re grateful for his deep commitment to the College and University and we'll greatly miss his warmth, humor, creativity, curiosity, and his never-ending willingness to help.
