Art Auction to Support Arts Advocacy Day

April 24, 2017

Join the Arts Administration Graduation Association (AAGA) for an evening of arts and culture at their annual auction, where all proceeds will support the AAGA's efforts at Arts Advocacy Day in Washington D.C.

For over a decade, funds raised from the annual Art Auction have gone toward underwriting the cost of graduate Arts Administration students to attend Arts Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. and to fund student research grants. This year the AAGA also supported interested Museum Leadership graduate students to attend Arts Advocacy Day with them. Our board secretary is a MUSL student, and we've worked to include MUSL students in our programs this year as well. Anyone wishing to participate in the auction will need a bid card, available for $20 at the door, but you can get them in advance for $10 as a student with ID or for $15 for all non-students by clicking the link here

"The AAGA is tremendously excited to host the 14th annual Arts Auction," wrote Sarah Braverman, Treasurer of the AAGA. "The event is a fantastic opportunity for alumni, students, prospective students, and leaders in the arts and culture sector of Philadelphia to network and support arts advocacy while enjoying good food and drink. We believe that now, more than ever, arts advocacy is needed, and we look forward to paving the way for future students to engage in advocacy efforts."

The AAGA enhances the Drexel Arts Administration program academically, professionally, and socially by supplementing it with learning, networking, and extracurricular opportunities. It also serves as a forum for Arts Administration students to voice their opinions and have them represented by the AAGA Board to the Graduate Student Association (GSA) and AADM faculty. The 2016-2017 AAGA Board is comprised of Signe Carlson, President; Felicia Knise, Vice-President; Elizabeth Marlowe, Secretary; Sarah Braverman, Treasurer; and Kari Swenson, Webmaster. Visit the event page here to learn more about what the night has in store.
