Pretentious Film Majors
December 2, 2015
For the past five years the Pretentious Film Majors (PFM) have been showing us why we should hate the movies we think we love. Originally created by Westphal Screenwriting and Playwriting alums Zachary Shevich and Ben Silverio, PFM started out as a small radio show and has since evolved into a full-scale web production. You can catch PFM’s radio show every Thursday from midnight to 3 AM on WKDU 91.7FM or streaming on wkdu.org. The latest episode will air on DUTV on January 8 at 8:30pm or you can watch right now, here.
In this episode PFM takes us to the Philadelphia Film Festival for reviews of the festival’s most popular films including the closing night film Where to Invade Next?, by controversial filmmaker Michael Moore. PFM had the chance to interview Moore on the red carpet along with filmmakers Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson before the premiere of their stop-animation film, Anomalisa. Don’t miss this episode or next month’s, in which PFM will be giving their Oscar picks.
The episode was co-executive produced by Matt Hepworth, Michaela Murray, and Devon Voelkel and produced by Justin Allison, Ethan Lewis, Michaela Murray, Dylan Myer and Devon Voelkel.
Celebrities interviewed on previous episodes of PFM have included Ellen Page, Kevin Hart, Evan Rachel Wood, Chris Hardwick, Todd Haynes, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Michael Hall, Alison Brie and dozens more.
The University’s television station, DUTV airs on Comcast channels 54 and 62 and Verizon channel 37.
