Welcome Back from the Dean
April 3, 2015
In Drexel’s fast-paced world of ten week quarters, time flies. Winter now seems to be over and the spring term has begun. At the Westphal College, the best is yet to come and we’ll be telling you about numerous events and initiatives in this and upcoming editions of our newsletters. Before the academic year’s end, we’ll be hosting Neiman Marcus’ Fashion Director Ken Downing; our D&M Distinguished Speaker Lauren Ohtake, a veteran of Rag & Bone, Vince and Donna Karan; and Bradford Shellhammer, founder of Fab.com. Filmmaker Jim Fall will screen his Lizzie McGuire Movie and producer-writer Jeff Vlaming, with credits including NCIS, Fringe and Hannibal, will be visiting. Our Co-op Theater Company will be presenting the unconventional musical Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson, which portrays our 7th president as a rock star. We’ll be telling you about an innovative new Art History major which can be taken as a standalone or second degree; the College’s first PhD program, which will be in Digital Media; and animation powerhouse Pixar’s visit. We’ll end the term with our fabulous senior shows and I could go on and on about the many music and dance concerts and other upcoming events. Rather I hope you’ll read on and, more importantly, please come out and join us. Most of our events are free to the Drexel community and the public.
