Senior Shows
June 5, 2014
Our 2014 Senior Shows are off to an impressive start following the first ever Product Design Senior Show this past Friday, during which the Pearlstein Gallery was overflowing not only with proud parents, students and faculty, but with creative products that solve real-world problems. The excitement continued on Saturday with the Digital Media program taking over the Gallery and Black Box Theater for a display of award-winning work from 22 undergraduates and 12 graduate students. The Dance program also took to the stage at the Mandell Theater for their spring show, “Synapse,” featuring 57 student dancers performing eleven pieces all characterized by vivacity and quick-fire impulses.
This week, the Photography program will open its senior exhibition on Friday, June 6 at 6:00 pm in the Pearlstein Gallery (3401 Filbert Street), featuring a diverse body of work composed of students’ distinct visions developed over nine months. The annual Fashion Show will take place on Saturday, June 7 at 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm at the Urban Outfitters Headquarters in the Philadelphia Navy Yard, featuring the 32 collections of graduating seniors and graduate students. Tickets are still available for the 4:00 pm or 8:00 pm show, and can be purchased here.
We move back to the Pearlstein Gallery on Thursday, June 12th at 6:00 pm for the Graphic Design Senior Show, which will include interdisciplinary projects exemplifying the program’s curriculum in book design, packaging, publication design, web design, environmental graphic design, motion graphics and more. Also that evening, the Interior Design Senior Show takes place in the URBN Center Lobby (3501 Market St.) at 6:00 pm, featuring a wide range of projects from purely conceptual and fine arts-related work to designs for commercial and residential applications.
Ending the week, our Film & Video program will host a one-day film festival on Friday, June 13th at 12:00 PM at International House (3701 Chestnut Street), to showcase their senior students’ capstone projects. More than 20 short films will be screened. To learn more about all of our Senior Shows, click here.
