New Date to Celebrate Fox Historic Costume Collection
June 5, 2014
Drexel President John A. Fry and Cara Fry will host a formal dedication of the Robert and Penny Fox Historic Costume Collection on Tuesday, June 24 at 11:00 am in Westphal College’s URBN Center (3501 Market Street). The ribbon-cutting event will celebrate the generous million-dollar gift recently made to the Collection by Robert and Penny Fox. The dedication and a following reception are open to the Westphal community of students, faculty and professional staff as an opportunity for the College to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
Clare Sauro, curator of The Fox Historic Costume Collection, is excited to look to a future that will utilize the support for exhibitions, conservation, public programming and a comprehensive online database, which will allow the public, scholars, and Drexel students increased access to the Collection’s more than 12,000 fashionable garments, accessories and textiles.
In her capacity as Assistant Curator, Dedication host Cara Fry has served as an essential contributor to the Collection’s tremendous growth in the last year. Her gracious and supportive involvement has included work on collections management, special events, fundraising and more. Click here to learn more about the Fox Historic Costume Collection.
