Former MoMA, Bloomingdales Executive Bonnie Mackay to Discuss Diversity and Inclusion in Fashion Design

Bonnie Mackay, former marketing director at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and fashion director at Bloomingdales, will join Drexel University’s Westphal College of Media Arts & Design on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. for a discussion about diversity and inclusion in fashion, product design and brand development.

The presentation will be held in the URBN Annex Screening Room (3401 Filbert St.). It is free and open to the public.

Westphal College’s fashion, product design and design & merchandising department welcomes Mackay as its first visiting Rankin Scholar in Residence of 2014.

Mackay will be participating in an “Inclusive Design Charette” with Drexel students on product development and design for short- and long-term disabilities from Jan. 23 through Jan. 26. Drexel students interested in participating should contact Victoria Hurst at vlh49@drexel.edu, as space is limited.

About Rankin Scholars in Residence
The Rankin Scholar-in-Residence award, named in honor of former Dean Marjorie Rankin and established through the continuing donations of her friends and colleagues, seeks to bring noted individuals to campus who excel in any of the fields related to the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design. Goals of the program include: inspiring students, stimulating faculty; invigorating the professional field, and aiding in the continuing development of the College.
