Andy Paige: Fabulously Frugal
February 3, 2014
Andy Paige earned her title “budget bombshell” as the author of the internationally best-selling book, Style On A Shoestring and through hundreds of “fabulously frugal” makeovers featured on over 200 episodes of television, airing in over 14 countries. The charming go-to-gal for “thrifty-chic” has also appeared on hundreds of local radio and television networks doing playful and entertaining bargain beauty and style tips segments. She is a celebrated, funny and interactive speaker who recently completed a 50-city national speaking tour where she helped over 300,000 women “find their foxy.” On Wednesday, March 5, Westphal and the Close School of Entrepreneurship will host Andy Paige in a free-to-the-public discussion about entrepreneurship in style, the enjoyment of being thrifty, and the inspiration behind her famous fashion fixes at 6 p.m. in our URBN Annex Screening Room (3401 Filbert St.). Paige holds a master’s degree from The New School, but much of her gumption and know-how comes from her broad education and her years as a Ford and Wilhelmina Model, a professional fit model, and a trained professional make-up artist.
As an entrepreneur, Ms. Paige developed her own line of affordable, all-natural-hair cosmetic brushes and launched “Style in a Box” – a thrifty bundle of accessories that aims to offer an immediate style boost. In June 2013, Paige launched her newest product, the GirlyGoGarter – a hands-free purse worn neatly and discretely as a modern garter – that was nearly five years in the making with three patents.
