Illustrating with Ink
April 4, 2014
Artist Bil Donovan will give a lecture and demonstration on fashion illustration employing ink in the URBN Annex Screening Room (3401 Filbert St) on Thursday, April 17 at 6 pm. Following the lecture, which is free to the public, you’re invited to meet Bil Donovan at a reception and book signing for Advanced Fashion Drawing Lifestyle Illustration at 7 pm in the URBN Annex lobby.
Bil Donovan’s unique style of capturing the essence of glamour and beauty through a pose or gesture has attracted clients from the fashion, beauty and luxury industries. Illustrating for prestigious companies like Mercedes Benz and the St. Regis Hotel, he has created artwork that is elegant, chic and timeless. He was appointed Christian Dior’s first artist-in-residence, inventing images that capture the mystique, spirit and allure associated with the House of Dior.
Donovan will conduct a two-day workshop on April 18 and 19 for Fashion Design students, during which he will further explore the development of a fashion croquis with a live model, water color and ink. The Barnes & Noble Drexel bookstore will be on site at the reception if you’d like to purchase his book. Click here explore Donovan’s work.
