MAD Dragon Reunion Show
May 9, 2013
Drexel University’s student-run label MAD Dragon Records is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special concert on Friday, May 17th 7 p.m. at the Trocadero Theater. In helping MAD Dragon commemorate a decade of great music, the Philly-based band Hoots & Hellmouth will reunite with original band member Andrew Gray for the first time in two years for a one time only performance. Joining them on the bill are MAD Dragon acts Cheers Elephant, Kuf Knotz, Andrew Lipke & the Prospects, Matt Duke and Wild Rompit.
Cheers Elephant are a psychedelic pop rock quartet who music critics have dubbed “chew-it-up, spit-it-out rock n’ roll.” Kuf Knotz brings a blend of hip-hop, funk, soul, and rock. Kuf has performed with well-known acts such as New York Dolls, Steel, Amos Lee, The Roots, and the legendary Bruce Springsteen. Andrew Lipke has garnered acclaim for his work as a producer and composer, as well as his stint with the legendary Led Zeppelin Tribute act Get The Led Out. Hoots & Hellmouth plays a fierce, foot-stomping, soulful blend of American roots music.
Tickets are free to Drexel University students with a valid ID and $10 in advance, $15 day of show for all others. Also, all concert attendees will receive a free compilation of songs, Ten Years of MAD Dragon Records, featuring music from the various artists who have released albums with the label since its inception.
Tickets can be purchased at the Trocadero’s box office (http://www.thetroc.com/events) located at 1003 Arch St, Philadelphia, PA.
