URBN Renewal: April 12
March 7, 2013
One of the pleasures of moving into a new home is finally being able to show it off to friends and family – a satisfying reward for the frustrating weeks spent unpacking boxes, moving furniture and figuring out where to put the couch. After years waiting for a new home for our community of over 2,000 students, faculty and staff, we’re beyond excited to show off the URBN Center, the Westphal College’s two gorgeous state of the art buildings for twelve of the College’s twenty-two academic programs as well as the College’s administrative functions. You know us, so you know our URBN ReNEWal Grand Opening event will not be your typical housewarming party.
The URBN ReNEWal Grand Opening on Friday, April 12 is the culmination of a nearly three-year planning, design and fundraising process. The event will pack the URBN Center’s 140,000 square feet of innovatively designed teaching, performance and exhibition spaces with hundreds of guests, studio demonstrations, live and recorded entertainment, modest refreshments, and award winning, world record holding American juggler Thom Wall, a current Arts Administration graduate student.
The April 12 Open House will feature demonstrations and work from our graphic design, fashion, product design, design & merchandising, interior design, architecture, digital media, gaming, animation, music industry, theater, dance, music, photography, fine arts, film, screenwriting & playwriting and television programs in such brand new facilities as the Pearlstein Gallery, a black box theater, a motion capture studio, a hybrid making lab, and the Drexel Historic Costume Collection.
Please come and join us at the URBN ReNEWal Grand Opening on Friday, April 12th, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the URBN Center at 3501 Market Street St. and 3401 Filbert Street. Click here to RSVP. URBN ReNEWal is sponsored by Blick Art Materials. Click here to find out more about Blick and for a coupon.
