Concert Band March 7, 2013 The Drexel Concert Band led by Dr. Wesley Broadnax will present A Journey Through Europe, showcasing music from England, Scotland, and Italy on Sunday, March 17th at 7 PM in the Mandell Theater. The program will include works by Ticheli, Verdi, Rossini, and de Meij. The Concert Band will be joined by guest conductor Maestro Filippo Salemmi, who serves as principle conductor of the Bands of Norcia and Bevagna in Central Italy. He will lead the Concert Band in Verdi’s La Forza Del Destino, Ticheli’s Loch Lomond, Rossini’s Marcia Per Il Sultano, and La Corona d’Italia. Both his artistry and connection to Italian music are sure to make new fans for this wonderful musical legacy. Comprised of over 70 players, the Drexel Concert Band performs both classical and contemporary wind band repertoire of the highest quality and this concert is free and open to the public.
