Music Industry Facilities Manager Ryan Moys and Westphal alumnus Jonathan Low, Music Industry '08, have engineered albums that have recently been nominated in the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. 

Moys engineered Tye Tribbett's gospel album, "Greater Than," which was nominated for three Grammy Awards. The categories were: Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance ("If He Did It Before...Same God"); Best Gospel Song ("If He Did It Before...Same God"); and Best Gospel Album ("Greater Than"). In 2009, he worked on Kirk Franklin’s Grammy Award-winning album, “Fight of My Life." 

Moys was also the personal engineer for Grammy Award-winning record producer James Poyser (Jimmy Fallon Show, Erykah Badu, Common, The Roots, D’Angelo) and continues to work alongside him on various gold and platinum selling album projects. Ryan has served as a local fixture at the famed Philadelphia recording studio, Larry Gold’s TheStudio, where he recorded and mixed numerous major label and independent clientele projects and recorded string arrangements for artists such as Kanye West under award winning arranger and composer Larry Gold. During his 15 year career, he has earned an impressive credit list with artists such as Common, Joss Stone, Anthony Hamilton and Jill Scott. 

Philadelphia-based musician, producer and audio engineer Jon Low engineered indie rock band The National's 2013 album "Trouble Will Find Me," which has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Alternative Album category. The album received widespread critical acclaim upon its release. "Trouble Will Find" Me reached number three on both the Billboard 200 and the U.K. Albums Chart. This is the second consecutive year Low has been associated with a Grammy-nominated record. Last year, he worked on Joan Osborne's "Bring It On Home," which was nominated for Best Blues Album in 2013.

While developing his skills in our Music Industry program, Low was able to foster invaluable relationships with a number of up-and-coming artists, leading to his head role at one of the most renowned independent recording studios in the country. His discerning ear and unyielding attention to detail have leant a distinctive sound to his work for The National, Local Natives, Kurt Vile, Twin Sister and Sharon Van Etten.
