Entourage Creator Doug Ellin Visits Drexel
October 5, 2012
Bring Your Entourage:
Meet the man behind Vince, Turtle, Drama, and E when The Kal& Lucille Rudman Institute for Entertainment Industry Studies hosts Doug Ellin on October 16th. Ellin was the creator and chief writer of the wildlysuccessful HBO series Entourage, and his own story reads a lot like a Hollywood screenplay. While working in the mailroom of an LA film studio and doing standup at night, a studio executive saw Ellin’s act and knew the kid had talent. Ellin went on to write and direct for film and television, ultimately creating one of the most talked about and acclaimed series on air.
In conversation with Rudman Institute Executive Director Karen Curry, Doug Ellin will take us behind the scenes of Entourage and show us how he created, cast and wrote such memorable characters and stories. He’ll also talk about working in Hollywood, what it takes to make it there, and how sticking to your guns and never giving up are essential to achieving success. The free talk gets underway at 6:30 PM in Bossone's Mitchell Auditorium on Tuesday, October 16th.
