CNN's Ali Velshi Visits Drexel
November 14, 2012
CNN’s Ali Velshi is coming to Drexel to explain the role of the economy and social media in the 2012 Presidential election on Monday, December 3rd at 6:30 p.m. The free talk is sponsored by the Westphal College’s Rudman Institute for Entertainment Industry Studies and the LeBow College of Business. It is at Behrakis Grand Hall in the Creese Student Center (3215 Chestnut St.).
Velshi is CNN’s Chief Business Correspondent and anchor of Your Money and people care what he has to say - whether it’s a New York City cab driver, an Iowa farmer or former GE honcho Jack Welch. Velshi breaks down the most complex financial issues to show how they impact your bottom line.
As one of the earliest adopters of social media among broadcast journalists, Velshi’s robust online presence is a dynamic part of his reporting. Hear about how social media influenced the election and about the benefits, and sometime drawbacks, for journalists in this brave new digital world. A light reception will follow the talk.
