Digital Media Senior Show
June 4, 2012
The Digital Media senior show will be on Sunday, June 10th in the Bossone Research Center (3140 Market St.). Join us at 1 PM for an expo of student work in the first floor lobby with a catered lunch. At 3 PM, formal presentations by graduating seniors will take place in the Mitchell Auditorium.
Projects on display will include "Monsters & Maidens," by team Angry Pixel, an animation about the evolution of video games through the point of view of a video game character. This animation was the 2012 Research Day 1st place award winner in the Undergraduate Creative Arts & Design category. Other standout projects include "Spirit of the Virginia: Prologue," by team Beyond Ink, an iPad application that ties together storytelling, animation, and user-driven interactivity to create an exciting new reading experience for young adults; "Heart Of The Island," by team Identity Crisis, a third-person "puzzle-based" adventure game for the iPad in which the player journeys to a mysterious island where nothing is quite what it seems; "Pyrolysis," by team Earls of Grey, which creates digital tools for visual effects; and "DIGM Help Network," by team ROFLcopter, an online resource for digital media students providing a place to share tutorials, links, videos, and give feedback on works in progress.
