Pretty Good Dance Moves
February 7, 2012
The Brooklyn-based electro-pop outfit Pretty Good Dance Moves (PGDM) is poised to release their latest record on MAD Dragon Records February 7th. The album titled, LIMO, is their fourth release, but the first with MAD Dragon, our student-run record label that is part of the Music Industry program. Buzz abounds about the record following the November release of the first single, "Movement 8 (I Wonder Why)," featuring Sabina Sciubba of Brazilian Girls. Dozens of blogs and publications including Time Out New York and Sterogum have previewed the album, which is comprised of eight instrumental movements and runs just shy of 40 minutes.
LIMO crosses electro-experimental-ambient and disco boundaries to take a new approach from the group's earlier recordings. PGDM has a January residency at Philadelphia's M Room Thursdays through the 26th. Click here to listen to songs from the album. The band released a video for MTV's the Hive and a live streaming recording session from the legendary Daytrotter studio scheduled for late February release.
