New DNews
March 2, 2011
A new episode of Dnews will air on Friday, March 4th at 8 PM on DUTV. Luckily for sugar-loving viewers, DNews had a bit of a sweet tooth this month. Mairin McKinley produced a piece on Kate Carrera, attorney turned cupcake lady, who travels around Philadelphia in her truck selling delicious treats to hungry Philadelphians. Also, Loren McFalls traveled to Naked Chocolate Café to see how some of Philadelphia's best artisanal chocolates and desserts are made.
In other news, Ian Jabour interviewed WKDU DJ and Drexel student Jay Baker-Johnson. Jay's radio show on WKDU, The Afternoon J, Fridays at 2 PM, highlights a mix of hip-hop, indie music and blues. DNews' newest producer, Alexandra Paulin, produced a piece about the first anniversary of Drexel's Rec Center, and another on Tango and the free lessons offered to Drexel students and faculty every Wednesday and Sunday. Finally, Julia Fisher traveled to Philadelphia's Tattoo Festival and reports on her indelible impressions.
