Exit Through the Gift Shop
March 2, 2011
The Academy-award nominated film Exit Through the Gift Shop will be screened tonight, Wednesday, March 2nd in Stein Auditorium, 111 Nesbitt Hall (3215 Market St). The film is directed by prolific street artist Banksy and tells the story of Theirry Guetta, a French born artist with an obsession for street art. Guetta spends years following and filming street artists after discovering that his cousin is the well-known European street artist Invader. His goal is to locate and work with Bansky and he finally does in time for his huge 2003 exhibition Turf War. What follows is the rise of Guetta own street art career and the birth of Mr. Brainwash. The film starts at 7 PM, is free for the public and popcorn and soda will be provided. The night was organized by DART, Drexel's student run art organization.
