Drexel Players Present
February 21, 2011
The Drexel Players are back this snowy winter with an all new production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town. Wilder’s timeless classic is a wonderful reminder that all human lives have value and that there is so much in life to appreciate, as it unfolds its story of an average town’s citizens and their everyday lives. Director and Theatre program director, Nick Anselmo, is pleased to present a re-imagined, fast moving production of Wilder’s classic, performed in modern dress.
The production will preview on Thursday, February 24th at 7 PM and open on Friday, February 25th at 8 PM. There will also be performances on Saturday, February 26th at 8 PM and on Sunday, February 27th at 2 PM. All performances will take place in the Mandell Theater (33rd & Chestnut Sts).
The cast includes over 20 students with majors including Business, Engineering and Screenwriting & Playwriting. Paul Nolan, a wonderful Philadelphia professional actor, joins our cast in the role of the Stage Manager, the play’s narrator. Nolan has performed with Lantern Theater Company, Arden Theatre Company, The Wilma Theater, and was most recently seen as General Waverly in the Walnut Street Theatre’s production of “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.”
