Late Night Series Turns 5
February 3, 2011
On Thursday, February 3rd, 2011, Late Night Series (LNS) will celebrate their five-year anniversary with a show like no other. The show will be held in the Creese Student Center (between 32nd and 33rd streets on Chestnut St) at 8:30 PM with sign-ups beginning at 8 PM. Along with a featured artist and other performances, pizza and cake will be served.
LNS is the Open Mic Night sponsored by the Westphal College. The show gives students and local artists an opportunity to showcase their talents for live music, comedy, poetry, spoken word and much more. Powered by what host Post Midnight calls "rock-star love,” performers are welcomed to the stage with hoots and hollers. Neil Genzlinger of The New York Times called Late Night Series, “An eclectic performance orgy…a coffee house/poetry slam/hip hop amalgam…”
LNS was established by Nick Anselmo, professor of theatre, at Drexel in 2006. LNS also strives to provide quality entertainment for all members of the Philadelphia and Drexel communities and actively works to promote partnerships within those communities.
