Paul Schultz joins us as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Architecture & Interiors after having been an adjunct in the program since 2006. Paul has also been the director of our Discovering Architecture summer high school program. For nine years, Schultz gained professional experience working at various architecture firms in Chicago, Illinois and Portland. The work ranged from exhibits, schools, restaurants, homes, libraries, retail space, zoos, aquariums and sustainable design. Schultz taught architecture and design at the Charter High School for Architecture and Design (CHAD) in Philadelphia from 2005 to 2008. For two years Paul worked through a federal grant as a pedagogical coach for ResulTech, Inc at the Franklin Learning Center, a magnet high school in Philadelphia.  The focus of his coaching at FLC was project/problem based learning which is a pedagogical approach that increases student engagement through real world connections, learning by doing, and the utilization of  modern learning tools.

Schultz earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign in 1992, and his Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Oregon in 2000.  Additionally, he studied furniture and sustainable design in Copenhagen, Denmark, and he is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional.
