Lifetime President
November 17, 2010
Nancy Dubuc is one of the most powerful executives in television. As President of Lifetime Television Networks and the History Channel, she is responsible for the programming, marketing, promotion and strategic planning for the Lifetime and History networks which includes History International®, History en Español™, Military History™, Lifetime Movie Network® and Lifetime Real Women®. Dubuc will speak to the current and future state of television on November 17th, at 11 AM in Stein Auditorium in Nesbitt Hall (3215 Market Street).
Upon taking the helm at the History Channel, Dubuc reinvigorated the network by launching Pawn Stars, Ice Road Truckers, Ax Men, American Pickers and Swamp People while maintaining the brand’s established identity with traditional fare like World War II in HD and America the Story of Us. Dubuc’s programming decisions just resulted in the channel completing its most successful ratings quarter ever. This past spring, Dubuc was given Lifetime Networks to add to her portfolio and we’ll be interested in hearing her plans for building upon the network’s hits, Project Runway, Drop Dead Diva and Army Wives.
Ms. Dubuc is known as an executive who takes risks and trusts her own instincts. She turned around the History Channel by bringing in newer and younger viewers while holding on to the channel’s core audience. The Rudman Institute for Entertainment Industry Studies Executive Director, Karen Curry, will conduct a conversation with Dubuc as the latest Rudman Institute event focused on the changing entertainment industries.
