20th Madrigal Dinner
February 26, 2010
One of Drexel University’s most popular traditions returned with the Twentieth Annual Madrigal Dinner on Friday, February 26th and Saturday, February 27th at 7:30 PM in Drexel’s Great Court. An evening of music, entertainment and food, the Madrigal Dinner transformed the Main Building’s Great Court into a nobleman’s palace. Here lords and ladies were entertained by storytellers and jesters while luxuriating with an array of foods that harkened back to the era of King James I and Shakespeare, served by student performers in Renaissance attire.
Following the sumptuous feast of roasted chicken, poached salmon, butternut squash, roasted potatoes and warm apple tart, the Chamber Singers performed popular music from the Elizabethan era.
