Top Honors at Arts of Fashion
November 20, 2009
Fashion graduate student Milka Osoro became the second Drexel student to win the grand prize at the Arts of Fashion symposium and competition in the last four years. Milka won the coveted Les Ecoles de la Chambre Syndicale, De la Couture Parisienne. This award will grant Milka a year's tuition to study at Paris' Chambre Syndicale de la Mode, the top couture design school run by the French government whose members include all the top French design houses. Milka's garments were inspired by architectural structures and were designed to create illusions by using secondary and complementary color hues from the color wheel. Milka was one of 50 students from more than 20 countries to compete. The show was staged by students and faculty from the Department of Fashion and Design & Merchandising.
