Westphal at the Fringe

Philadelphia"s annual Live Arts and Philly Fringe Festival showcases dozens of new and established artists presenting theater, music or dance. This year's Fest will include 185 shows and several Westphal students are participating. Screenwriting & Playwriting student and Theater minor Colleen Coffey is producing the play Half Way Home with her production company Falling Knome Productions. The play is about a state legislator who takes a group of convicted sex offenders into his home after the local halfway house closes. Digital Media alumni Tim Urian and Film & Video student Rachel Gluck star in the production.
Rachel Semigran, president of the Drexel Players, stars in Shakesploitation 2: Iambic Boogaloo, a fast-paced comedy featuring three classic Shakespearean plays produced by Iron Age Theatre. Entertainment & Arts Management student Katie Ringwood is stage managing Salvation Road, the story of a talented, young musician caught in the fervor of a new religious movement and produced by the Art Riot Theatrical Company. Danielle Kindt, Theater alumna, is stage managing EgoPo's Company, a play based on the short story by Samuel Beckett and directed by Lane Savadove, starring Theater minor alumna Melinda Glass.
