Co-op Profile: Katie Reilly
August 1, 2009
Music Industry student Katie Reilly's co-op was working at A&M/Octone Records in New York City, a label representing major artists including Maroon 5, Flyleaf, Hollywood Undead, and K'Naan. At the label Katie learned how to market music online by blogging on the Hollywood Undead's website and Myspace page, preparing websites for exclusive album previews, updating Facebook and You Tube pages and assisting the Street Team. "I had the opportunity to really learn about marketing and directly see the benefits of my work," says Katie. "I enjoyed every single aspect of it, and gained a lot of confidence in myself. I feel like I had the perfect co-op."
Katie played a part in the release of a hit record that debuted at Number 22 on the Billboard charts and formed lasting relationships with talented music industry professionals. After experiencing New York City, Katie was ready to seek a new challenge and a new city-she is currently on her second co-op at record label/management company Prospect Park in Los Angeles, CA, home of Five Finger Death Punch.
