June 20, 2006

Matt Stetson (junior, Interior Design) has been chosen as the recipient of an Angelo Donghia Foundation Scholarship which carries with it a prize of $30,000 for study in the senior year. Matt?s portfolio, which was judged by a panel of design professionals, educators and magazine editors, included innovative residential and hospitality concepts. Colleges and universities accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation were invited to submit two portfolios to the competition. Members of the Westphal College Interior Design faculty were equally impressed with the portfolio of student Missy VanSlett, and selected her portfolio for consideration by the foundation as well.

The Donghia Foundation was established by internationally recognized interior designer Angelo Donghia to provide support for the advancement of education in the interior design field. The foundation?s Senior Scholarship Program awards full scholarships to rising seniors in accredited, undergraduate interior design programs. Faculty advisors for the competition were Marilynne Rose and Kathryn Dethier.
