Product Design Senior Wins IDSA Student Merit Award March 09, 2020 On Friday, March 6, 2020, four Product Design seniors presented their work at Jefferson University as part of the Industrial Designers Society of American (IDSA) Student Merit Award (SMA) program. Senior Jason Wong was selected as the winner for his presentation focused on global design problems and intercultural connection to an audience of industrial design professionals and students. Drexel students Sam Gearheart, Pavan Radhakrishnan and Izzy Tormo also presented, in addition to industrial design students from Jefferson University. The judges determined that Jason’s quality of thought, scope of work, and presentation skills were emblematic of the best that the Product Design program at Drexel University has to offer. Jason will now move on to the second round of the IDSA SMA competition, where he will compete with 15+ other students from Northeastern industrial design programs to become the NE District IDSA SMA winner.
