Drexel graduate student Afnan Bashaikh was announced as the student winner of the international 2019-2021 SubZero, Wolf, and Cove Kitchen Design Contest. Afnan worked on this project in the graduate residential design studio and selected kitchen fixtures from Subzero and Wolf to complement the aesthetic.

Afnan notes, “The design reflects a product of modernity and simplicity, with an eclectic mix of materials adorning minimalist interiors. The aim is to embrace minimalism as the primary style with muted color scheme and timeless, considered design. The minimalist palette creates an intriguing context in which concrete, brass, marble, and walnut kitchen cabinets are used to showcase luxury in the details.”

As the only student winner of the competition, Afnan receives a cash prize and all expenses-paid trip to the 2022 Kitchen Design Contest Summit and Gala.
