What's a Charette?
March 07, 2013
The Dance and Digital Media Programs will host the 2013 performance charette, DIG: the memory of everything, from April 4th through the 7th and they are looking for students to participate. The charette will be the ultimate mash up and welcomes participants to dream big and go crazy. So ask yourself what you can build, make, write, or create in two days. We are seeking makers, movers, thinkers, dancers, choreographers, media artists, musicians, filmmakers, composers, engineers, designers (fashion, graphic design, lighting, tech etc.), writers, actors, photographers, architects, and anyone else who has something to contribute. The 2013 charette celebrates the Dance Program’s new Studio on the 4th floor of the Main Building.
At the beginning of the weekend, participants will be given a creative charge, a physical space to work in, various objects, music, and a team of interdisciplinary colleagues with whom to construct a combination event/ performance/ environment/ object based on your interpretation of the given theme. To register email taniaisaac@drexel.edu with your name, major, and the role you’re interested in playing. The registration deadline is March 20th and students must commit to the entire weekend.
