TV MGMT Student Success
March 01, 2017
From the East Coast to the West Coast, Television Management graduate students are demonstrating the Drexel Difference while working on a wide array of projects with industry leaders. Master’s candidates Rutika Raikar, Alessia Porcari and David Clark accepted Winter Quarter career opportunities with three prominent media organizations.
Rutika Raikar is working as a Theatrical Marketing Intern for major motion picture producer and distributor Lionsgate in Santa Monica, California. She started the job after flying back from winter break, where she spent time with her family in India. In this role Rutika will support the marketing arm of the Lionsgate Theatrical Division while having opportunities to work in the areas of home entertainment, digital and television distribution. Lionsgate is responsible for nearly twenty wide film releases each year, as well as two dozen others from the company’s diverse labels and partnerships. Alessia Porcari is working at Philadelphia’s FOX owned-and-operated station, WTXF. Alessia is following her dreams to work on a live show. Specifically, she’s assisting in the production of “The Q”, FOX29’s half-hour variety show hosted by Quincy Harris. The show includes a live studio audience, a local DJ, a studio producer and high-profile guests who discuss a mix of topics ranging from music and comedy to pop culture. Quincy Harris grew up in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia and has worked as an on-air personality at radio stations from Philadelphia to LA and is a film producer and actor. Alessia, who is working on her thesis while juggling responsibilities in her new role, is excited to learn from this accomplished professional at FOX29.
