Undergraduate Student Speaker: Jazminé Morrow (BS Fashion Design ’24)
Jazminé Morrow is a proud Chicago native and the youngest of three siblings. Growing up in a single-parent household she learned the value of tenacity from an early age. Her educational journey took her through various types of schools, both private and public, which greatly influenced her networking skills and, most importantly, her distinctive style. Fashion has always been her passion stemming from childhood where she experimented with colors as a form of self-expression.
In high school, Jazminé initiated an annual Fashion Show that eventually became an integral part of the fashion curriculum. As she entered college she continued to expand her network, finding inspiration in others and inspiring those around her. She has had the opportunity to assist with wardrobes for projects affiliated with Black Star Films, and is an integral part of the BLK Ivy Thrift team, initially in retail operations and then earning a promotion as a buyer and curator.
Jazminé also curates her own brand, Accent Mark by Miné. Her dream is to craft elevated streetwear for individuals who appreciate style as a means of self-expression, who defy conformity, and allow their clothes to speak for them. Jazmine will be graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design and will continue to create, inspire, and redefine what it means to express oneself through fashion.
