Graduate Assistant Tiffany England Receives Drexel Teaching Excellence Award
June 15, 2020
Graduate student Tiffany England received Drexel University’s 2020 Teaching Assistant Excellence Award. The awards are presented to graduate teaching assistants (TAs) throughout the university who exhibit exemplary commitment to student learning, innovative teaching methods, leadership, and a commitment to professional growth. England has assisted numerous courses, including required software and technology classes, and Orthographic drawing. In the face of Covid-19 she helped studio and seminar classes transition online. In both in person and online settings she makes herself available to provide support in ways that are centered on students—showing them new tools and techniques, or patiently guiding them to better understand what they have learned. Tiffany has a capacity for empathy, along with a generous sense of humor, that students and faculty admire and find praiseworthy.
Graduate Assistantships are available through an application process once students have completed two terms in the interiors program. GAs receive tuition remission and a small stipend for their work in support of faculty and students.
