The major in psychology focuses on learning how to frame useful questions regarding human behavior, cognition and emotion, how to research their answers, and how to understand their meaning and application.
Our renowned faculty specialize in a wide range of areas, including health, forensics, neuropsychology, cognitive, human experimental, and clinical psychology. Our faculty are involved in cutting-edge research and clinical applications.
Psychology majors take a variety of courses addressing research methods and fundamental bases of behavior. They also take specialized electives, conduct research under the supervision of faculty advisors, and have the option to engage in co-op opportunities.
The psychology community in our department is lively and fueled by an active psychology honor society (our Psi Chi chapter) and a Psychology Club. We welcome eager, committed students who have the passion to understand the biological, psychological and social underpinnings of human behavior.
