Gary Davis, MD, has been named chief student wellness officer for Drexel University. Dr. Davis has ably served as the leader of the Drexel Student Health Center since 2022. He and his team have provided exceptional care for Drexel students during this time, ensuring that they are receiving the best in care and treatment when sick or in need of medical support. In addition to his work with the center, he has also served as an invaluable partner to leaders across the College of Medicine and the Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS) leadership teams.

In his new role, Dr. Davis will partner with leaders across campus to ensure that all health and wellness systems and processes align and are set up for success to best support the Drexel student body. He will convene a multi-departmental wellness council to engage in these efforts. He will work closely with many members of the EMSS leadership team.

Dr. Davis’s background and experience make him uniquely qualified for the chief student wellness officer role. He currently serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Family, Community and Preventive Medicine. Prior to arriving at Drexel, Dr. Davis held a variety of medical leadership roles, including as CEO of ChesPenn Health Services and chief medical officer for Spectrum Health Services. He has also been a medical officer at the Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and he previously served as an assistant clinical professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
