Intercultural Book Circle: A Man Called Ove (University City Campus)

Tuesday, June 27, 2017

12:00 PM-1:00 PM

The Intercultural Book Circle will be meeting on Tuesday, June 27, at 12:00 p.m. in Sky View (6th Floor, MacAlister Hall) and on Thursday, June 29, at 12:00 p.m. in Room 1021 of Three Parkway (1601 Cherry) for a discussion of A Man Called Ove, by Swedish author Fredrik Backman. Lunch will be served.

“A Man Called Ove” is a novel about a cantankerous older man and how he is affected when a vibrant young family moves in next door. As we learn about Ove’s vivid interior life, we are called to question the snap judgments we make about others, and to consider the experience of aging in a culture that may come to feel increasingly unfamiliar. Equal parts hilarious and devastating, the experience of reading “Ove” will linger long after you close the back cover.

Please RSVP using the link at bottom, noting whether you intend to participate in the UC or CC Circle. The first 35 people to RSVP can claim a free copy of the book. Please direct any questions to jkrohn@drexel.edu.
